Hotel Lara’s Planet is a five room boutique guesthouse located right on the riverbank of the gentle flowing San Juan River in the pleasant town of El Castillo, with its postcard-perfect Spanish fortress on top of the hill and a stone’s throw from the roar of Raudal El Diablo (Devil’s Rapids). There are three (3) suites and two (2) rooms, each with a private bathroom. The guesthouse’s wood and bamboo construction combined with its open space structure not only brings the outside in but also produces a feeling of warmth, tranquility and harmony. This is further enhanced by the breezy, uncluttered rooms and open air café/restaurant with bamboo furniture beautifully handcrafted by Nicaraguan artisans.
The lush green of the rainforest and the guesthouse’s own garden provides restful contemplation and abundant oxygen to ensure a good night’s sleep on comfortable, clean beds.
Hotel Lara’s Planet has one of the best café/ restaurants in El Castillo and possibly within the Rio San Juan province. If you’ve tired of gallo pinto and want some variety, you will enjoy dishes such as:
•Pasta with sauce using fresh organic tomatoes, vegetables and herbs from the garden
•Pasta with coconut cream sauce made from coconuts from the garden
•Australian fish and chips
•Curries
•Fresh river shrimps and river lobster
•Nachos with homemade tortilla using an original Mexican recipe
•Milkshakes made with organic milk and fruits from the garden
