As you sit or lie down with eyes closed, sound vibrations wash over you, taking you on an expansive inward journey. Similar to meditation, sound baths stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system. You'll leave feeling relaxed, centered, energized, and uplifted. Sound Healing is an ancient-modern practice which comes in many forms across all cultures. ~ HEART CHAKRA TEA CEREMONY~ A Heart Chakra Tea Ceremony is an opportunity to connect with yourself and open your heart. Each chakra has a variety of herbs and flowers that stimulate and activate the chakras. Tea Ceremonies are a way to immerse into the power of the present, and increase your connection to your inner self and your heart chakra. Even before you enter the gate the Llamas will be checking you out, the goats will cry out a welcome. When you enter their corral you might be wary of their size, and you will be amazed at their speed as they run around to show off their long strides. After they run for you, we will show you how to hold the llama pellets in your hand as the llamas use their oddly soft pillowy-lips to pick up the pellets. The llamas love the pellets so enjoy, and pet them. Once the LLamas have eaten all the pellets, we will introduce you to our six goats and our six other llamas by spreading hay for the llamas to graze on and everything becomes peaceful and silent. You hear the wind in the trees, the call of the quail, the gentle sound of hay being mashed into cud. When you look up you notice you are surrounded by the desert, the Sawtooth and Joshua Tree mountains to the South, the ancient volcanic Black Mesa to the West, and Johnson valley stretching endlessly North. Throughout this experience your hosts will educate you on all things llama, in addition snap as many photos of you so you when you aren't taking them yourself. This experience last an hour and a half. NOTE: you must be 18 yrs or older. CLOSED TOED SHOES ARE MANDATORY. Other things to note: There may be up to four people participating in a feeding. This experience is a blend of yin yoga or gentle movement with the healing sounds of the Indian flute known as Bansuri as well as sound bowls. The combination of both allows the body and mind to reach a deep state of relaxation to move out of fight and flight mode. The experience will be simple and gentle. All levels are welcomed. We will open the class by a couple sounds of AUM to create some vibrational bounds with each other. 30 minutes of yin yoga will follow until we reach a state of shavasana to enjoy the power of sounds. When you go on a horseback ride with a string horse venue, they typically don’t teach you anything about the horse or how to ride a horse or any of that. The horses are saddled up you get on and you go. That is where we are different. Here you will get the whole experience. You will get to know your horse learn a little bit fundamental care for the horse, and a little mini lesson about how to ride and know your horse. You will learn to trust your horse and he will trust you. This is a horse experience not just a horseback ride.

Then take a 3 minute short walk through the desert, perhaps coming upon some wildlife on our way to a small private water feature where you will Experience natural hot springs from deep within the San Andreas fault. Conversation will include how the hot springs occur, local wildlife, plants, geographic points of interest, and other interesting information regarding the sanctuary and surrounding areas. This 2-hour experience allows each guest to pick from a variety of pre-made pots. Horsehair "Raku" during the experience uses a technique of applying horsehair, feathers, and/or sawdust to red hot pots. The carbon in these items transfer suddenly to the pot and are permanent. This method is eye-popping and amazing. Any age can do it. I recommend children be at least 10 and able to be respectful to other guests. I am sometimes a little corny, but very capable of sharing the How-To's, mixed with some history and other uses of clay. I am very good at coaching, and helping guest achieve a decorated raku pot that they are excited to take home. This is the kind of experience that will be fondly remembered for a lifetime.

What living thing can possibly survive in the desert? Is there any living thing that can actually thrive here? Come take a stroll through Kitty's Wildlife Refuge for an immersion Experience into desert life. Kitty and her 7 year old son moved to a barren homestead in the remote desert 30 years ago. After planting over 200 trees for a home school project, an oasis grew & bloomed, offering trees, shade, and water for the indigenous wildlife. The refuge is not a zoo, but a chance to see wild things in their natural habitat. Kitty offers 30 years of knowledge, insight, passion, and compassion to her love and appreciation of all living things at this unique Experience visit. When the tortoises are out of hibernation in warm weather, this is especially a more engaging activity for young children. When the tortoises are hibernating in the winter, the bulk of this educational tour is watching wildlife activity. The visiting wild ravens love to talk and entertain all day long!

I'll invite you to my workshop where I'll go over the process of making a SunPrint ( aka cyanotypes). We will decide if we are going to make a negative of one or your images or use found objects ( dried plants, crystals, feathers, don't worry about bringing anything I have a bunch of fun objects) after a quick lesson, we will coat the watercolor paper with a light sensitive solution, let it dry, take a short nature walk to gather local plants, prep our objects or negative and go out into the sun to expose the paper, come back inside and rinse and dry the print. Each person will have the opportunity to make at least 4-6 prints 9 x12 inches each. You will create one of a kind artwork from Joshua Tree and become the artist in the desert! This experience is limited to 6 people max I have a really big backyard where we will spend most of our time. If you don't see your preferred date listed, no worries just ask, I am happy to do experiences with people from the same household during quarantine times.
