We take you to secret lookouts and hidden beaches no other tourists can reach, blasting music the whole time. In summer, we bounce along off-road tracks with the roof off. In the cooler months we splash through puddles of mud as we swerve through the forests. We are all about the journey, not just the destinations. This is why we love to go off-road, snap Polaroid pictures at the coast, play epic tunes all day long and give you the chance to taste Sintra’s traditional sweet pastry and Port wine. We meet at my Wonder Van Store in Sintra. Ready for a local insight of the best village in Portugal? You can choose to start at 9:30am or 10am. Jump in my 4x4 Classic Portuguese jeep for our 1st stop: Quinta da Regaleira where you will have the chance and time to explore this magnificent estate , from the famous Well to it's one of a kind gardens! Surrounded by the immensity of Sintra & Cascais Natural Park, through secret off road trails and past traditional villages take some great pictures while having lot's of fun and ejoying the nature and fresh air! Next stop: the most western point of Europe, Cabo da Roca where the immensity of the ocean clashing into land forms a beautiful cliff with amazing views. After lunch (usually at a local restaurant) and a lots of non touristic view-points (to gaze upon the iconic sights) we head to Sintra's gem: Pena Palace for you to explore this world famous fairy-tail Palace! This experience is designed to make you time-travel back to the early ages of photography. You’ll have your portrait made through one of the oldest photography processes: wet plate collodion and will have the chance to experience the whole process of development. This immersive experience will be held at FIVE HISTORIC PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO, which itself is equipped with antique cameras, and furniture, alongside some literature on 19th century Photography, all for your edification. The Studio’s expertise lies in the use of 19th century photography technique Wet Plate Collodion, invented by Frederick Scott Archer in 1851. This particular technique creates unique images, reminiscent of a distant past. You will have the chance to choose the material in which the portrait will be made - clear glass or aluminium- and choose from one of 3 different sizes. Some 19th century clothes and props will be available for the portrait session. In addition to being an extremely interesting process, you will have the opportunity to follow the hosts to the laboratory/dark-room to experience/see the whole development process. Your portrait will be ready to be delivered in 60 minutes. Other things to note By default the price includes an aluminum plate in the smallest size. If the guest want a different size or material, the difference should be paid at the studio.

Support original ideas and true entrepreneurship. —//— In one afternoon you can enjoy the best of Portugal’s stunning coastline, taste local Portuguese food and wine and go off-road in Sintra’s mysterious forests. Join us to watch the sun set into the sea with sand between your toes, salty hair and wine in one hand. We’ll pick you up in one of our legendary convertible jeeps and take a brief look at Sintra’s best sights and palaces before hitting our favorite forest tracks. These off-road, unmarked trails pop out at the westernmost point of Europe, Cabo da Roca. Our secret beach is a short hike away. The dirt trail twists along a steep route but it takes only 30 minutes to get down to the sand. Bring proper shoes for this part! Flip flops/thongs/jandals/foot wedgies won’t make the cut. Once we reach the soft, golden sand – just relax. We’ll set up a picnic spread of traditional Portuguese “petiscos” (our word for tapas) stacked full of cheese, chouriço (chorizo), bread and other snacks. You can swim in the salty ocean, kick a ball on the sand, or just sit back with a few glasses of local wine. You might have 99 problems, but a beach ain’t one. It can be challenging at some points. Head to the coast, meet the considered “Santorini of Portugal”, – a small village between the ocean and the cliffs! Continue on the coast line towards the most famous beaches in the area, and as we are getting there ahead of the crowds, lucky enough to enjoy the vast ocean avoiding the vast “ocean of people”. Time for lunch at a 100% local restaurant where you will delight our typical dishes and good regional wine, on the top of the mountain. Through paths and trails, we continue our adventure taking you to our secret location, that can only be reached with the help of a 4×4 jeep. You will lose your breath with this magnificent setting, that you will never forget! We challenge you for some “off the beaten tracks”? Hold on tight, we will cross the mountain on “Adventure” mode! The experience starts at the train Station of Sintra (It can be adjusted) . The first stop is the Historical Center of Sintra, for an accurate historical explanation of the village, then we drive to Quinta da Regaleira. After the visit to Regaleira, it's time for lunch, normally by the coast, right before we visit the stunning landscape of the western point of Europe, on our way back we cross the natural park heading to Pena Palace. During the day you will be able to see four Palaces, one Castle, and the coast, with several stops for the best views and pictures. We recommend the visit inside 2 monuments. The experience is totally flexible according to your personal needs and the monuments to visit inside can of course change (Monserrate or the Moorish Castle are always a great choice). It's a private tour, so, of course, is custom-made for you. It ends in Cascais where you can have the perfect dinner.

We will walk ”behind the scenes” of Ericeira to discover the well-hidden path to the majestic cliff overlooking Foz of Lizandro and Praia de São Julião. São Julião: A beach and a village crossed by a river which marks the borders of Sintra Natural Park. Sintra Natural Park, recognized worldwide by UNESCO, has on its south coast all the crown jewels. This leaves its northernmost side at the mercy of those who have a greater affinity with the unknown. The Beach of São Julião is one of those places that escape the obvious and wins it at all. After a short and lite hike, we will enjoy the panoramic view of the Atlantic. On a clear day, you will have a full view of the coastline. We will take some time to make a stop at my favourite spot, to observe, contemplate, reenergize and relax. The ocean is my passion and this sea view is the most beautiful I have ever seen in my life. You can make this walk as long as you wish, with jumping into the ocean afterwards, or just hang out on the beach São Julião, or enjoy a drink at the coffee bar at the beach. Or go for another long walk on the beach... Great options! After lunch we visit the 12th century Peninha Sanctuary. From here you’ll take in 360-degree views of the forest, the Atlantic Ocean, Lisbon, Sintra and Cascais. Welcome to the family! Our purpose is to take you away from the hustle and bustle of the city center and take you right into a fairy tale. We will pick you up with a classic car and drive to the Countryside area where we grew up. First we will visit a traditional village to let you know about the area, and tell you the information that passed through generations and you can't find online. Then, we will continue to our family house to initiate the private feast , as a family member we may ask your extra hand to help with the preparation. You will be in a cosy home environment with the portuguese music on. There you don't have to worry about the timetable, it is the moment to create memories, good relationships and to be focused with all the attention on the flavours. Our family speciality is the roasted pig in the wooden oven, but we can also prepare grilled sardines, codfish or vegetarian meals. We work with seasonal products and what the land has to offer. (1 hour visit - self guided) Your guide will provide the historical content about monuments during the course of the day. You'll have free time to explore the monuments on your own. - Choose a second monument: 1. Monserrate Palace and park, the most diversified garden you will see in Portugal. A fabulous Oriental-style palace, with revivalist elements, Moorish architecture with Neo-Gothic. (1 hour visit) OR 2. The Biester Chalet seen in Roman Polanski's film The Ninth Gate. This chalet transports you to a history full of symbology and mysticism. We will have a fantastic horseback walk on the most mystical mountain in Portugal. We will see a beautiful vision around 500 meters high: a seaside village, wild 200th years old forest, a lake, Sintra's palace, and visit beautiful and rare places.
